- Tricky words- In this activity the children find leaves within leaf piles or pull them from trees. Each leaf has a tricky word for them to read. An alternative way to play this game is to say the word and ask the children to find the correct leaf. This is for sight word recognition.
- Number recognition- As with the phonics game, the tricky words can easily be substituted for numbers. An alternative is for the children to find numbers that match.
- Ordering- The children find the leaves either by pulling them from trees or looking in the garden. They then have to bring them back and place them in order.
